A staple of the Omani dessert table, Omani halwa is especially popular during Ramadan. “Omani halwa is a symbol of Omani culture and heritage and has been extremely taken good care to preserve it.
Honey halwa: Made with Omani honey or other varieties available in the market
Saffron halwa: Made with saffron (high quality saffron comes from places like Iran)
Rosewater halwa: Quality rosewater including Iranian rosewater and the smokey rosewater produced locally in Jebel Akhdhar
1030h :Nu'man Zoo
Housing more than 300 animals, birds and reptiles, Al Numan Park is one of the few options for of the local and resident families that longed for a pastime during holidays. Numan Park is also offering a perfect leisure avenue for the whole family and a spot for buying traditional artifacts of the country. This first zoo in Oman has, among others, rare species of animals and birds which are specially flown in from across the continents, kids’ park and private suites with swimming pools rented on hourly basis plus party halls and restaurant. 1200h :Al Sawadi Beach (Lunch)
Sandy spit of land and some islands scattered of the shore make Sawadi a popular day trip. At low tide you can walk to the watchtower on one of the islands. Abundance of shells and a variety of watersports, snorkeling and diving are on offer, including boat trips to the nearby Dimanayat islands. Enjoy the new Aqua Fun Park at the resort.
1400h :Nakhal Fort
The fort, also called Husn Al Heem, lies 120 kilometers from the capital Muscat and is located at the entrance of Wilayt Nakhal in Wadi Ar Raqeem. This fort’s architecture does not follow a particular pattern, as it was designed around an irregularly shaped rock. You'll find that some rock parts become part of the building. This can be observed in some towers, particularly on the fort’s western side. The construction of the castle dates back to the pre-Islamic era.
1500h :Athwara -Nakhal Doctor Fish
Reach the foothills of the mountains and you see the warm sulfuric waterfalls gushing out of the rocks into a pool where one can dip. The water itself is so medicated that the spring cures all your bone related problems, another fascinating thing as you dip your feet into the water.... there are these tiny fishes.... known as Dr. Fish....they come in schools to bite away all your dead skin around your feet, the feeling is ticklish but worth a try.
